According to some traditions that are historically doubtful, the body of Imam Ali (AS) was moved from Najaf to the current location of the tomb by the order of Imam Sadiq (AS) and by Abu Muslim Khorasani.

Abu Muslim sent his experienced people and they secretly took the coffin containing the body of Imam Ali (A.S.) from Najaf with a camel to Marva Shah Jahan and placed it in a place called Mount of Light, and from there they brought it to Balkh and secretly buried it in the village of Khwaja Khairan. They also put a tablet on it.

According to the beliefs of Muslims, Hazrat Ali (AS) is buried in the city of Najaf in Iraq, because exhuming and moving his grave is not allowed and the story of Imam Sadiq's (AS) request to move his body is not compatible with official beliefs.

According to history, this place is the shrine of Imamzadeh, a jurist and a poet who lived in Balkh in the fifth lunar century and had something in common with Hazrat Ali (AS) that caused him to be confused with him. Among other things, his name, nickname, and nickname were the same as that of Hazrat Ali and his father's name was Abu Talib.

In any case, the people of Mazar-e-Sharif and Afghanistan have special respect for this place, and thousands of people come to visit the Blue Mosque every year.
